Acupuncture & Reflexology during pregnancy

Picture
Acupuncture treatments are usually given once a month throughout the pregnancy. However, if morning sickness occurs treatments are given more frequently until symptoms are relieved.

Having acupuncture whilst pregnant is perfectly safe for both the mother and growing baby. In fact over the seven years we have been treating pregnant women many of our patients, especially those who already have children, notice a marked improvement in colic, sleeping and over all energy of the baby.

The purpose of Acupuncture, Reflexology & Acupressure during pregnancy is:-
  • Relaxation
  • Alleviate symptoms
  • Support the mother to be healthy
  • Prepare for birth
  • Assist in the prevention of a variety of pregnancy related conditions

Relaxation for the mother is equally good for her developing baby. Relaxation is the antidote to stress. Many women find that pregnancy in addition to their normal day to day activities can put them under pressure. Reflexology throughout pregnancy is appropriate for relaxation and stress reduction.

Many common pregnancy symptoms can be alleviated these include:-
Oedema (esp ankles), headaches, constipation, haemorrhoids, high blood pressure (not suitable for pre eclampsia or eclampsia), tiredness, morning sickness, heartburn, backache, breathlessness and insomnia.
